Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Salary: Up to £60,000 + Car Allowance
Location: Hinkley Point C Site, Somerset
Job Type: Full-time, 38 hours/week
Working Pattern: 5 Days a week / 9 days fortnightly
Work type: Full-time (with travel to supplier sites and hybrid working as needed)
Join a once-in-a-generation infrastructure project that’s powering the UK’s Net Zero future. We’re looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure that products and services delivered by the supply chain meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance.
What You’ll Do as a Supplier Quality Engineer
1. Act as a key liaison between the project and its suppliers, managing quality performance across the supply chain
2. Support supplier qualification, audit, and improvement activities
3. Promote a strong nuclear safety culture and ensure adherence to project requirements
4. Review and monitor Contract Quality Assurance Plans (CQAP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and End of Manufacturing Reports (EoMRs)
5. Facilitate manufacturing kick-off meetings and source inspection activities
6. Investigate non-conformances, lead root cause analysis, and ensure effective corrective actions
7. Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure supplier process capability
8. Use a risk-based, data-driven approach to mitigate risks and drive continuous improvement
What You’ll Bring as a Supplier Quality Engineer
9. ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification with strong audit experience
10. Degree or minimum 3 years’ experience in Quality or Supplier Quality within a regulated industry
11. Solid understanding of manufacturing and inspection processes (e.g. fabrication, coating, NDT)
12. Proficiency in quality tools such as root cause analysis, 8D, and continuous improvement methods
13. Ability to manage a diverse workload and collaborate across functions
14. Membership of CQI, IRCA, ASQ CQE, or equivalent is desirable
15. Experience in the nuclear sector or other highly regulated environments is a plus
