Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Salary: Up to £60,000 + Car Allowance
Location: Hinkley Point C Site, Somerset
Job Type: Full-time, 38 hours/week
Working Pattern: 5 Days a week / 9 days fortnightly
Work type: Full-time (with travel to supplier sites and hybrid working as needed)
Join a once-in-a-generation infrastructure project that’s powering the UK’s Net Zero future. We’re looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure that products and services delivered by the supply chain meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance.
What You’ll Do as a Supplier Quality Engineer
* Act as a key liaison between the project and its suppliers, managing quality performance across the supply chain
* Support supplier qualification, audit, and improvement activities
* Promote a strong nuclear safety culture and ensure adherence to project requirements
* Review and monitor Contract Quality Assurance Plans (CQAP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and End of Manufacturing Reports (EoMRs)
* Facilitate manufacturing kick-off meetings and source inspection activities
* Investigate non-conformances, lead root cause analysis, and ensure effective corrective actions
* Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure supplier process capability
* Use a risk-based, data-driven approach to mitigate risks and drive continuous improvement
What You’ll Bring as a Supplier Quality Engineer
* ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification with strong audit experience
* Degree or minimum 3 years’ experience in Quality or Supplier Quality within a regulated industry
* Solid understanding of manufacturing and inspection processes (e.g. fabrication, coating, NDT)
* Proficiency in quality tools such as root cause analysis, 8D, and continuous improvement methods
* Ability to manage a diverse workload and collaborate across functions
* Membership of CQI, IRCA, ASQ CQE, or equivalent is desirable
* Experience in the nuclear sector or other highly regulated environments is a plus
