Are you looking to gain valuable experience in a legal setting in 2026?
If so, Wilsons is looking for a skilled Legal Secretary to join our friendly and hardworking Private Client department on a full time, permanent basis.
What you'll be doing
A typical day working as a Private Client Legal Secretary will involve:
* Preparing and managing legal documents and correspondence
* Organising and maintaining legal files and databases
* Scheduling appointments, meetings, and court dates
* Completing audio typing and word processing of legal documents
* Assisting with document preparation
* Handling incoming calls and emails, directing inquiries appropriately
The team you'll be joining
Our established Private Client department consists of four teams: Court of Protection, Probate, Trust Management and Tax and Trust Advisory.
We advise on the full range of issues that affect individuals from a lack of mental capacity, through to death, tax and trusts. The work is challenging and the teams are very hard working and keen to deliver the best possible service to our clients.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a firm that is listed in The Times Best Law Firms 2026.
In return, we are looking for someone who is proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
You will have strong organisational and time management skills, along with previous experience in an administrative or secretarial role. Excellent audio typing skills are important, and knowledge of legal terminology and procedures would be a distinct advantage.
The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team is also key to success in this role.
