Job Description ROLE DETAIL Position Title: Electrical Technician JOB OBJECTIVE An Electrical Technician, also referred to as an Electrician, Electrical Installers, Electrical Maintenance Technician or Electrical Engineering Technician, is a skilled professional responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment (In comparison to Engineers who will Develop & Design not install and maintain as a technician ). They play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure in various settings. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design and develop electrical systems, circuits, and components for various applications, such as buildings, machinery, or power distribution networks, using engineering principles, computer-aided design (CAD) software, and industry standards. Plan and oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Conduct technical feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of electrical designs and recommend modifications or improvements as needed. Perform calculations, simulations, and analysis to determine electrical load requirements, voltage drop, and power distribution to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of electrical systems. Specify and select electrical components, materials, and equipment, such as cables, transformers, switchgear, and control systems, based on project requirements, budget constraints, and technical specifications. Troubleshoot electrical problems and malfunctions, using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and technical knowledge, to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to restore functionality. Prepare technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and manuals, to communicate design concepts, implementation plans, and operating procedures to stakeholders.
