Job overview
The Lincolnshire Electronic Assistive Technology (EATS) Service works with adults and children with complex physical and/or communication disabilities. Following an assessment, the team makes recommendations and provides the most suitable electronic assistive device to promote independence, communication and improve quality of life of the patient.
The service is commissioned by NHS England for the provision of Specialised Augmentative and Assisted Communication aids (AAC), and Environmental Controls (EC). Based in North Hykeham, the team provides a service across the East Midlands region.
The role of the Technology Assistant is a key part of the team and the successful candidate will be a vital and hugely appreciated addition to the team.

To assist and collaborate with the Service Lead and other team members in the provision of specialist Assistive Technology (AT) including:-
1. P rovide skilled support work for the activities of qualified clinical team members (speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, clinical scientists) and other AT Team staff.
2. To assist in the assessment and provision of electronic assistive technology to children and adults with severe physical and/or other disabilities.
3. To manage a caseload and to work under the indirect supervision of a qualified HCPC registered professional.
4. To have a good knowledge of information technology and electronic assistive technology.
5. To maintain, configure and utilise the equipment used for assessment and provision purposes.
6. T o undertake appropriate administrative, clerical and housekeeping duties including decontamination of stock returned to the service.

Qualifications
* Vocational Level 3 or equivalent in IT related subject or equivalent experience
* GCSE Maths and English Grade C or equivalent numeracy and literacy skills
* ECDL or equivalent basic IT qualification
* Qualification in checking electrical equipment
Skills
* Evidence of good communication skills in all areas
* Good manual dexterity skills to set and install equipment.
* Good self-motivation and time management skills
* Evidence of teaching others new skills
Knowledge
* Evidence of knowledge of a range of IT equipment and their use
* Knowledge of medical technology and its application
