Overview
As a HGV Relief Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our fleet maintains full utilisation, transporting modular structures, and temporary storage & accommodation units on our fleet of lorry loader cranes. You will also work within our Tanker team servicing our customer’s welfare requirements. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, compliance and professionalism to support a customer-focused and results-driven environment and to position Algeco as a leading provider in the industry.

Responsibilities
* Deliver our products and services to customers on time, in full (OTIF), and report any issues as they arise.
* Adhere to planned routes and movement orders.
* Optimize loading and unloading times to ensure all work is completed efficiently.
* Ensure any requirements for moving abnormal loads are always met.
* Operate a lorry loader crane in varying environments and conditions.
* Work within our Tanker team executing customer service calls.
* Complete the relevant safety checks on the allocated vehicle and equipment, report issues immediately, and ensure fleet and safety compliance.
* Adhere to EU driving hours and Working Times Regulations (WTD) at all times, targeting zero infringements.
* Demonstrate flexibility, as appointments may require you to be away from home throughout the working week, driving all types of vehicles at any of our locations. Appointments may change with limited notice, in line with business or operational needs.
Qualifications
* Valid Class 1 HGV Driving Licence, with DCPC preferred; Class 2 considered with at least 1 year’s experience.
* Previous experience in operating a lorry loader crane from 31 tonnes and above/up to 66 tonnes.
* Previous experience operating a wagon and drag combination.
* Previous tanker / waste management experience desired but not essential, as training will be provided.
* CPCS and/or ALLMI lorry loader operator qualification.
* Allmi D1+E or CPCS required; willingness to be away from home as needed.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: £20.00 p/h (Salary Equivalent £46,800, Overtime paid at time and a half)
Working predominantly within one of our six regions, you will be utilised to cover vacancies, holidays, training, etc. of our branch lorry loader and tanker drivers. This is a varied role that may require infrequent nights away and travel.
