Design Manager
Reading – Long term contract
Overview
We are a large contractor with a busy pipeline across a number of sectors, working on a variety of projects for private and public sector clients.
Responsibilities
As a Design Manager, you will liaise with site teams, senior management, consultants, and architects to manage the design process and oversee external and internal design teams.
You will attend design team meetings, record notes, agree actions and distribute them to relevant functions, and support Net Zero requirements, DREEAM, Digital Strategy and MMC compliance.
Additionally, you will manage our designers to provide complete and compliant information to meet the design programme and pass client approval gateways.
Qualifications
Suitable candidates should have a solid Tier‑1 contracting background, experience performing a design management role on sensitive projects of similar size and complexity, a keen eye for detail and the confidence to challenge drawn information to improve detailing and buildability.
NEC contract experience and knowledge of design‑specific software packages is required.
Contract Information
Due to the sensitivity of the project, a background check and DBS will be required for full security clearance.
Subject to clearance, the role could start quickly for a minimum 12‑month duration, with up to 2 years remaining for potential longevity.
