* Designing and maintaining MES solutions according to set standards and processes in multiple IT systems.
* Acts as technical advisor to the business wherever possible and/or required.
* Applies corporate and departmental standards, policies (testing, validation, change control, disaster recovery and incident/problem management) and rules
* Strives to ensure that the MES team delivers high quality, fit-for-purpose, reusable, and maintainable solutions according to specified requirements
* Obtain knowledge of plant processes and/or business processes in areas of responsibility.
* Reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for ArcelorMittal South Africa
* Managing of business change requests (order book management)
* Responsible for identifying where and how processes/activities can be transformed and/or automated to create business efficiencies such as saving cost and increasing productivity.
* Modelling processes to visually articulate tasks and activities.
* Lead problem solving, develop opportunities for businesses & convincingly present recommendations.
* During acquisition and implementation of MES projects:
* Participate during the identification of opportunities
* Participate during technical architecture acquisition
* Responsible for integration and acceptance testing
* Responsible for after implementation monitoring and support
* Manage and lead Business Analyst team
* After hour support as and when required
Qualification:
* B-Degree (NQF 8/10) in Computer Science, Technology, Information Science or B-Eng. Degree (NQF 8/10) in Industial Engineering
Experience and Requirements:
* Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience and working knowledge as a Business Analyst in Manufacturing Execution System (MES) development and support environments.
* Strong MES systems and plant knowledge.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing business processes.
* Thorough understanding of the essentials of system integration and inter-system communication.
* Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) for systems and processes.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate in a structured, precise, and compelling manner.
* Ability to read, interpret and create technical IT documents such as flow charts, and functional specifications.
* Exposure to Agile System Development and Project Management processes.
* Ability to scope projects and compile development specifications according to defined requirements
* Ability to determine system requirements and compile process flows and data diagrams
* Ability to understand, write and interpret SQL queries.
* Experience of considering the 'big picture' across multiple processes and activities and identifying what can be standardized, consolidated, removed etc.
* Experience in defining and managing acceptance tests.
* Experience of collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to identify strategic goals and outcomes.
* Experience of implementing identified improvements working iteratively and collaboratively with stakeholders
* Experience of identifying bottlenecks, delays, manual overhead and the root causes of why activities/processes are not as efficient and lean as they could be.
* Expert in data gathering and business analysis (including structuring and translating data into the most meaningful information for the audience).
* Experience in managing a team of Business Analysts
* Strong understanding of AMSA manufacturing business processes
* Excellent understanding of and experience with steel manufacturing IT systems, their components and interfaces and integrations
* Working knowledge of MS Office range of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
