We’re on a mission to create confidence for drivers now and in the future. Our Data & Analytics team is central to this, unlocking the power of our rich motoring and insurance data to drive smarter decisions and better outcomes.
We’re looking for aData Platform Engineerto help us build and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms. You’ll work closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to ensure seamless data flow and quality across our infrastructure. This is a fantastic opportunity to help define our engineering approach and implement a modern data ecosystem that supports our transformation.
What will I be doing?
* Design and build scalable data pipelines that support business needs and enable actionable insights.
* Develop and maintain a trusted Data Lakehouse, ensuring it delivers reliable and high-quality data across the organisation.
* Write modular, well-tested code using modern engineering practices to ensure maintainability and performance.
* Monitor, optimise, and troubleshoot data systems to ensure reliability, security, and scalability.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions aligned with business goals and technical standards.
* Support data-related queries and incidents, ensuring timely and professional resolution while continuously improving processes.
What do I need?
* Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, particularly Azure, and familiarity with platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, RedShift, or Azure Synapse.
* Proficiency in Python and Terraform, with a solid understanding of Lakehouse architecture, dimensional modelling, and scalable data pipelines.
* Strong grasp of modern engineering practices, including Agile delivery, CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, and Git-based workflows.
* Collaborative mindset, building trusted relationships across teams and contributing to a seamless, integrated data ecosystem.
* Clear and professional communicator, open about challenges and successes, and committed to delivering high-quality, maintainable solutions.
* Continuous learner, passionate about improvement and staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
