We a looking to recruit an experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our CAMHS Gateway team to undertake the role of making wellbeing calls to our children and young people who are awaiting treatment.
The service is about to embark on an exciting phase of growth, with new investment and changes coming and as a result this role will evolve as our service develops, and you may initially support existing teams while new structures are launched.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
To offer high quality care ensuring high standards of clinical practice when working with all young people and their families/carers
To liaise with relevant agencies in the delivery of care to young people and their families
To provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their families
To work with colleagues within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to ensure delivery of comprehensive packages of care
Deliver a variety of care and intensive evidence-based treatment interventions, on a one-to-one, family and group basis to promote recovery, appropriate in partnership with children, young people and families/carers
Make judgements about appropriate models of treatment, often involving highly complex issues and situations and thus requiring analysis, comparison and interpretation of a range of options
To conduct risk assessments and provide risk management plans in line with the clinical risk policy. To take part in PAN Dorset Deliberate Self Harm rota as required
To regularly review and monitor outcome of assessment and effects of treatment in line with goal based outcomes and the care programme approach.
To assess the needs of the individual children, young people and their families and work in partnership with them and manage a defined case load.
To undertake mental health assessments in a variety of settings including home, clinic, schools and acute settings and ensure appropriate treatment plans are initiated
To provide therapeutic treatment packages including short term interventions and work individually with this client group, where appropriate.
