We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our clients mental health team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, promoting independence, recovery, and wellbeing.
As a senior member of the team, you will also take on leadership responsibilities, supporting junior staff and ensuring the delivery of safe and effective care.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide practical and emotional support to service users with a range of mental health needs
* Develop and implement person-centred support plans
* Lead shifts and coordinate day-to-day service delivery
* Support, mentor, and supervise junior support workers
* Administer medication in line with policies and procedures
* Maintain accurate records and reports
* Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies
* Promote safeguarding, dignity, and respect at all times
About You
* Previous experience in a mental health support role (essential)
* Experience in a senior or supervisory role (desirable)
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
* Strong understanding of mental health conditions and recovery approaches
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
