How You'll Make a Difference
Working with the out of hours Emergency Duty Team (EDT), you will provide administrative support to a small team of social care practitioners who cover South Gloucestershire, Bath and Northeast Somerset, Bristol and North Somerset.
What You Will Be Doing
It will be your responsibility to maintain clients' records, complete statistical records and data returns on spreadsheets and maintain the EDT staff rota and records for the EDT pool cars.
You will accurately record and assist in the monitoring and maintaining of budgets and financial information.
When required, you will be asked to act as a call handler. This will mean taking calls from members of the public, the police and other agencies, collating information to pass on to an EDT Officer.
Liaising with local providers, you will identify available resources (by contacting foster carers, care homes, B&B's and kennels if families have pets), to check for availability, and then passing back to a Social Worker to arrange accommodation.
What We Need From You
We require you to hold either an NVQ 2 or 3 GCSE's grades C/4 or above or have an equivalent qualification or relevant experience in office administration.
It is essential that you can communicate effectively with customers, professionals and partnership agencies using a variety of media such as email, phone and face to face etc.
Given the elements of the role, you will have great IT skills and know its practical application, including experience of using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and maintaining computerised record systems.
Ideally, you will have previous experience of dealing with challenging calls from members of the public and families who are looking for out of hours support.
What You Need To Know
This role is for a limited term ending 31st July 2026.
All hours worked will be based at our the Badminton Road office.
The role works to a four-week rolling rota, working weekends.
On average, you will be working 16 hours per week, salary is pro-rated to hours worked.
4 Week Rota
Weeks 1 and 3: Saturday 08.45pm pm, Sunday 08.45am pm
Weeks 2 and 4: Saturday 16.45pm am, Sunday 16.45pm am
