Job Description

Job Title: SEMH Tutor Maths & English (Salford) Location: Salford Pay Rate: GBP25 per hour (starting rate) Job Type: Temporary | Part-Time | 20 hours per week (ASAP start) We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMH Tutor to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Salford. The successful candidate will deliver one-to-one tutoring in Maths and English to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping to bridge learning gaps and boost their academic confidence. Key Responsibilities: Deliver one-to-one GCSE Maths and English lessons, tailored to the needs of students with SEMH.

Adapt lesson content and pace to support emotional regulation and different learning styles. Build strong, trusting relationships with students to create a supportive and safe learning environment. Support students in developing subject knowledge, study skills, and exam readiness.

Track and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to parents, carers, or professionals as necessary. Essential Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring Maths or English. Experience working with learners with SEMH, either in a one-to-one or small group setting.

Right to work in the UK. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one). Desirable Qualifications: PGCE in Secondary Education and/or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Experience working with students who have Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs. Why This Role? This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate tutor to make a meaningful impact.
