Portsmouth Water are delighted to have an opening for a Production Controls/EICA/OT Engineer for our Production Department. We are seeking a proactive and solutions-focused individual to take responsibility for designing and developing solutions and processes across our production and network assets. You will be programming, modifying, installing and commissioning control systems including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and Telemetry systems with a key focus on cyber security and resilience, mitigating risks to supply sufficiency, and driving continuous improvement in OT performance. You will collaborate closely with both Operations and Technical teams to enhance site reliability, improve quality compliance monitoring, and ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of our workforce via control and automation upgrades and improvement projects.
Responsibilities
* Effective delivery of system optimisations and improvements to enable efficient operation of Production assets via implementation of OT/ICS projects.
* Provide EICA/OT support and expertise to the water treatment works and associated Network assets.
* Delivering training and mentoring to colleagues across the business.
* Factory and Site Acceptance Testing.
* Commissioning Production OT works where required.
* Change control of electronic documents, software packages, PLC/HMI/SCADA/GeoSCADA files.
* Proactive monitoring of OT cyber security equipment and systems.
* Collecting, processing, and analysing operational data.
* Complex fault finding and diagnosis on Industrial Control Systems.
* Assisting with reactive/operational work where required.
Qualifications
* Recognised vocational qualification in a relevant field
* HNC/HND Electronic Engineering/Control Systems Engineering
* Advanced understanding of industrial control systems
* Advanced understanding of process instrumentation
* Advanced understanding of Hardwired circuitry
* Proficient in PLC, SCADA and HMI design/modification
* Experienced in Telemetry configuration
* Good understanding of OT communications protocols
* Authoring and working to/from project/engineering documentation
* Desirable: BS7671 18th Edition
* Working knowledge of generic cyber security policies and equipment
* Experience of project delivery full lifecycle
* Organisation of resources
* Experience of commissioning
* Experience of root cause analysis
* Experience of report writing
* IOSH Managing Safely
* Electrotechnical Certification Scheme
