Overview
The Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) role is vital to the effective/efficient running of flood risk pumping stations, water control structures and the wider business. You will join a MEICA team to prioritise, plan and deliver the maintenance or replacement of crucial assets, enabling flood protection to homes, businesses and the environment, with an increasingly important role as we face climate change. You will work closely with external contractors to develop a world class asset management organisation.
Responsibilities
* Provide strong technical leadership to assure MEICA technical, safety, legal, environmental and operational requirements across diverse geographic assets.
* Lead MEICA activity, offer technical mechanical support to the team, liaise with business partners, and act on behalf of the MEICA Team Leader and Operations Managers.
* Contribute to prioritisation, planning and delivery of maintenance or replacement works for assets to support flood protection.
* Respond to flood incidents as part of the MEICA team.
Qualifications / Experience
* Comprehensive knowledge of engineering-related statutory legislation, and British and European standards.
* Experience in leading safety investigations, identifying and disseminating learning to improve engineering and behavioural safety.
* Knowledge and experience of Root Cause Analysis, reliability engineering, process improvement, technical leadership, and writing/reviewing technical specifications.
* Educated to a minimum of HNC/D or degree level in an appropriate Mechanical discipline.
* Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
Role details
You can be based at any listed location with occasional hybrid homeworking and site visits; therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.
