This exciting and dynamic nursing post will support people with haematological conditions from across Mid and South Wales, including patients participating in clinical trials, receiving chemotherapy, stem cell transplants and CART therapy.
The role includes ensuring safe and effective provision of care is maintained, supporting and communicating with junior staff alongside the multidisciplinary team, and ensuring patients and their families receive tailored care.
Responsibilities
* Take charge of a shift, including managing beds and staffing.
* Perform managerial tasks such as sickness management and VBAs, with support from the ward management team.
* Takes responsibility for training as a link nurse in specific areas and supports the education of the wider workforce through indirect and direct mentoring and educational sessions.
* Support the wider haematology team, including the Haematology Day Unit, Cardiff Haemophilia Centre, Teenage Cancer Trust Unit and Haematology Ambulatory Care.
* Work in a high acuity, fast‑paced area that requires strong problem‑solving skills.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experienced haematology nurse with a passion for working in an innovative, fast‑paced chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant or CART‑cell setting.
* Chemotherapy skills essential.
* Good knowledge of haematology.
* Ability to lead by clinical excellence and work in a forward‑thinking, motivated environment.
* Desirable: ability to speak Welsh; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
