Join our team as a Senior Contract Surveyor at Hill Group UK. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage cash flow, cost control, and profitability across diverse construction projects. Collaborate closely with production and technical teams to ensure high-quality delivery while meeting financial targets. Focus on proactive analysis, contract management, and compliance to make a significant impact in the construction sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with Production & Technical Leads to identify risks and manage project scope within agreed timelines.
2. Attend design meetings and ensure timely execution of actions.
3. Prepare contract sum analysis, cash flows, and valuations to maintain positive cash flow and maximize project profitability.
4. Ensure timely payments from clients and retention payments post-completion.
5. Manage subcontractor valuations, payments, and ensure compliance with contract conditions.
6. Review drawings for cost-saving opportunities while ensuring project requirements are met.
7. Oversee procurement processes, ensuring timely subcontract orders and approvals.
8. Produce accurate and timely Cost Valuation Reports (CVCs) for project review and approval.
9. Manage final accounts and ensure adherence to company protocols, aiming for successful completion and payment.
10. Mentor trainees and collaborate with other departments to enhance communication and problem-solving.
Success Measures:
1. Accurate contract valuations and cash flow management.
2. Timely and compliant procurement and subcontractor payments.
3. Implementation of effective cost-saving initiatives and design recommendations.
4. Effective team collaboration and issue resolution.
5. Timely agreement of final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
Skills & Experience:
1. Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or related field (HND/HNC, degree, or equivalent).
2. Membership of MCIOB or RICS.
3. Proven experience in contract and quantity surveying, construction budgeting, and managing mixed-tenure schemes.
4. Strong commercial experience, especially in residential development or contracting.
5. Deep knowledge of UK building regulations, health and safety, and construction techniques.
6. Proficiency in remeasurement for construction elements like Piling, Groundworks, RC Frame.
7. Excellent numerical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
8. Knowledge of H&S compliance, risk assessments, and method statements.
9. Experience in value engineering and procurement management.
