You will be responsible for driving departmental improvement, managing resources (including fieldwork budgets), and ensuring the delivery of consistently high-quality teaching that secures excellent results at GCSE and A-Level. This significant leadership role comes with a substantial Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) payment appropriate for a Head of Department. We Are Looking For: A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a degree in Geography or a related field. A proven track record of successfully leading or significantly contributing to the leadership of a Geography department. Expertise in curriculum design, assessment, and data analysis to drive improvement across all key stages. A clear strategic vision for developing global literacy and academic excellence. The ability to inspire, mentor, and line-manage a team of specialist teachers. Salary and Benefits Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS) for Teachers. The base salary will be paid according to experience within the statutory Outer London Pay Scale (The Outer London Main Pay Range minimum is approximately £37,870 as of September 2025). A Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) payment (The specific amount will be confirmed based on the size and complexity of the department, typically falling within the TLR 2a/2b band, ranging from approximately £3,527 to £8,611 per annum for 2025/2026).
