Overview
We are seeking a skilled Test Technician to join a growing engineering team. The role involves testing, validating, and troubleshooting electronic products, while supporting process improvements and ensuring compliance with quality standards. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, technical ability, and teamwork are essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out functional testing on products using approved instructions and designated test equipment.
* Set up and operate test equipment, ensuring calibration requirements are understood and adhered to.
* Diagnose and resolve faults at component and system level.
* Record and analyse test results in line with quality and compliance requirements.
* Operate automated test equipment and related systems where required.
* Support continuous improvement activities by suggesting and implementing process changes.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including logs, reports, and customer-specific records.
* Follow all safety and quality procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
* Work to production schedules, achieving test targets without compromising on quality.
The Candidate
* Previous experience in an electronics test or repair role.
* Qualification in Electronics Engineering.
* Ability to interpret technical documents and follow procedures.
* Skilled in fault finding, analysis, and troubleshooting.
* Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Comfortable using computer-based systems for logging and reporting.
* Team-oriented with a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
* Familiarity with quality systems and manufacturing practices.
* £25,000 – £33,000 per year (depending on skills and experience).
