Job Title: UK Resilience Academy Associate Location: Flexible/Remote, with UK-wide travel Build the future of resilience. Empower others through learning. We particularly welcome applications from resilience practitioners currently active within the sector, and from those with credible and relatable experience across all levels of resilience leadership. Key Responsibilities Learning Delivery Prepare for assignments by reviewing pre-briefing materials in advance Have a clear understanding of objectives, content, and the delivery format before each assignment Develop training sessions, workshops and/or exercise materials as required. Deliver pre-developed training sessions, workshops, and/or exercises as required Facilitate scenario-based workshops, including discovery workshops, discussion, table-top, command post, and live-play formats Share professional insights and examples where appropriate to support information gathering, learning and engagement Respond appropriately to participant questions or feedback during sessions, escalating issues to the appropriate person as required. Advisory services Participate in business development activity to qualify and scope opportunities when requested Work with clients to understand their needs and develop potential solutions (to go through Serco Governance) Provide SME support to business case, proposals and bids Identify opportunities as appropriate for organic growth and new business for Serco in support of National Resilience. Evaluation and improvement Observe and assess participant activity to provide relevant feedback and capture completion of learning outcomes Conduct exercise debriefs capturing lessons identified and areas for improvement Contribute to post-exercise debriefs and discussions Prepare post-training, exercising or advisory reports when required Participate in short internal debriefs to share reflections and learning following development or delivery of assignments Quality assurance Undertake the Serco Essentials training as required Represent Serco always adhering to the Code of Conduct and Serco Standards Maintain credibility in the relevant sector Keep up to date with emerging risks, policy developments, and innovations in resilience practice Participate in Associate briefings when requested. Innovation and impact Contribute to thought leadership activities as requested Identify and implement innovative training tools and techniques, including simulation platforms, digital learning resources, and immersive technologies What We’re Looking For Skills and Experience Experience delivering training or supporting exercises in a relevant field. Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to support learners from varied professional and organisational backgrounds. Ability to follow structured plans while adapting to participant needs and changing situations. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Familiarity with the UK civil contingencies landscape and emergency preparedness frameworks. Knowledge and Qualifications Hold a recognised training or adult learning qualification [e.g., Level 3 Award in Education and Training, PGCE, CIPD L&D qualification, or equivalent], or be actively working towards achieving such a qualification (essential for UKRA assignments) Degree level education [post-graduate level preferred] in a relevant discipline, or comparable sector experience [e.g., BSc Resilience and Emergencies Management, BA teaching and Learning, MSc in Emergency Management and Resilience, M.Ed., BCI certification, or equivalent experience] is desirable Evidence of continued professional development in training and/or resilience.
