Job Reference: OB WN, Personal Assistants Required for Man with Autism (EH8)
Rate of pay £15 per hour.
Responsibilities
* Provide friendly, approachable support with a good sense of humour, giving space to develop while offering guidance.
* Be lively and fun, enjoy music, singing, and reading stories to others.
* Be reliable, punctual and honest; maintain an open and honest relationship with the employer.
* Support with diet as part of daily duties; full training will be provided.
* Support me with autism/learning difficulties including emotional dysregulation; any experience with alternative therapies is beneficial.
* Initially work one-to-one; follow employer’s instructions and respect boundaries.
* Option to learn about my enzyme therapy after getting to know me; be able to calculate percentages confidently using a calculator to carry out the enzyme therapy.
Work Details
* Working hours: 9-hour shifts; potential for extra hours some evenings and overnight respite.
* Shifts: total of three nine-hour shifts per week; two PAs requested (one doing one shift per week, the other two shifts per week). Applications from people seeking only one nine-hour shift per week are welcome.
* Location: EH8 area; I live on the 44 bus route.
Requirements
* Experience of supporting people with autism or learning difficulties; ability to support with emotional dysregulation.
* Interest in alternative therapies would be beneficial.
* Member of the PVG scheme or willing to join.
