A long-established organisation in the logistics and supply chain sector is seeking a commercially focused and operationally strong Operations Director to lead its freight and logistics operations. With strong reputation for service excellence, the company supports a wide range of clients through its national distribution infrastructure and global freight forwarding capabilities.
The Role
This is a strategic senior leadership role with responsibility for overseeing end-to-end operations including freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, and domestic transport. The Operations Director will play a key role in scaling the business, enhancing operational performance, and introducing sustainable, data-led solutions that support long-term commercial growth.
Key accountabilities include leading high-performing operational teams, improving cost efficiency and customer service, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory frameworks. The role also involves cross-functional collaboration with finance, sales, and HR, while supporting innovation, technology adoption, and infrastructure development in line with company growth plans.
The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in freight, logistics, or transport operations, including knowledge of international freight flows, UK/Ireland customs processes, and regulated environments. They will be a confident and engaging leader with a track record of delivering operational improvement, financial performance, and team development in fast-paced commercial settings.
