Brockenhurst College has an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Media to join their dedicated and enthusiastic team. You will be working on a part-time basis, with a competitive salary of £31,930 to £42,454 pro rata per annum. (Unqualified teachers: £25,297 to £31,930 pro rata per annum DOE).
We are a high-achieving college attracting around 2,800 sixth form students annually. Located within the stunning New Forest National Park, we offer a wide range of courses and superb facilities.
Role Responsibilities
1. Teach on courses as agreed with the Head of Curriculum.
2. Act as a Personal Tutor to students, if required.
3. Serve as Course Leader when requested.
4. Prepare and mark student work, monitor progress, keep records, and provide reports to students, parents, employers, and College managers as appropriate.
5. Collaborate with colleagues to address student needs.
6. Ensure inclusive learning principles are followed.
7. Contribute to curriculum design, delivery, and development.
8. Assist in developing teaching and learning resources for the relevant subject/course.
9. Maintain current knowledge of developments in the subject area.
10. Build and maintain external links related to the subject and represent the College at relevant meetings.
11. Organise and participate in visits, field trips, etc.
Candidate Requirements
1. Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area.
2. Teacher training qualification or working towards it.
3. Ability to deliver media production and theory across disciplines.
4. Strong knowledge of Media Theory and vocational units.
5. Understanding of current curriculum developments.
6. Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
7. High-level practical skills in video editing software, camera controls, lighting, and sound.
