Facilities and Hygiene Operative

Shift: Monday to Friday, 3pm - 11pm
Type: Temporary to Permanent (for the right candidate)
Pay: £13.79 per hour

We're looking for a Facilities and Hygiene Operative to play a key role in supporting our growing site in Sandwich, Kent. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new operation where your work will make a visible impact every day.
Key Responsibilities
Hygiene & Cleaning Duties
Carry out daily and scheduled cleaning of production areas, offices, restrooms, canteens, and communal spaces.
Clean and sanitise machinery, equipment, and work surfaces in line with strict hygiene standards.
Ensure all cleaning activities meet HACCP, GMP, and COSHH regulations.
Replenish consumables (soap, towels, cleaning supplies).
Handle cleaning chemicals safely and maintain accurate usage logs.
Monitor hygiene equipment and report any faults promptly.
Facility Support Duties
Support waste segregation and disposal in line with environmental policies.
Conduct deep cleans and assist with hygiene audits.
Respond swiftly to ad-hoc cleaning requests from management or team members.
Maintain stock levels of cleaning materials and report shortages.
Assist with inspections and preventative maintenance measures.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a hygiene, cleaning, or facilities role (ideally in a production or industrial environment).
A strong understanding of hygiene and safety standards (HACCP / COSHH desirable).
Great attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
A reliable, proactive attitude with good communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
