Modern Apprenticeship – Machining
Applications are invited from enthusiastic individuals interested in commencing an apprenticeship in July 2025. All training provided aligns with EMTA recommendations. Applicants should preferably have or be working towards standard grade passes in Maths and Physics.
Our Machining Apprentices work on highly skilled, complex, and precision tasks at our facility in Arbroath, machining components from various materials.
What Does the Apprenticeship Involve?
This is a 4-year apprenticeship to qualify with an NC in Mechanical Engineering. The first year involves learning manufacturing fundamentals at Angus Training Group, including machining, assembling, and inspection. Subsequently, you will join us at the Halliburton manufacturing facility, receiving training on various machine tools and inspection equipment used in producing Halliburton Completion products.
We utilize a variety of machines, such as CNC lathes and mills, as well as specialized machines like Hones and Gun Drills. You will learn to operate these machines to produce components meeting strict standards according to design specifications. Candidates should also apply to Angus Training Group for an aptitude test to assess suitability for the apprenticeship.
