WAREHOUSE/DISPATCH TEAM LEADER/SUPERVISOR
Location – SOUTH SHIELDS
Salary £31K Per Annum
Zenith are working with our client who are a successful Manufacturer based in South Tyneside. They are looking for a friendly, proactive Dispatch Team Leader / Supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis. This role blends hands‑on dispatch work with supporting and developing the people around you, so you’ll spend around half your time involved in day‑to‑day warehouse tasks.

Responsibilities will include the following:
* 50% hands on within the Warehouse area
* Picking, packing, and preparing customer orders
* Carrying out final checks before items leave the building
* Loading and unloading courier and pallet collections
* Using dispatch software to book orders, print labels, and manage paperwork
* Acting as the final check for product quality and presentation
* Ensuring all accessories and fixings are included
* Logging and reporting any quality issues using our internal systems
* Supporting the dispatch team with their daily tasks
* Monitoring performance and carrying out annual reviews and regular check‑ins with team members
* Organising holiday cover and ensuring the team is fully staffed day to day
* Using spreadsheets and basic reporting tools to track performance, team metrics and maintain digital records
* Monitoring dispatch accuracy, cut‑off times, and damage rates
* Tracking returns, missing items, and other quality indicators
* Spotting bottlenecks and suggesting improvements to workflow or systems
The Person we are looking for:-
* The ideal candidate will have a balanced mix of Leadership/Management experience in dispatch, warehousing, or operations and also Hands on experience within a Warehousing area (Manufacturing)
* Strong computer skills - confident with dispatch systems, spreadsheets, and online platforms
* Good communication and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work comfortably with couriers and creating excellent relationships with external partners.
