The Role:
Do you consider yourself a caring person. If so, are you able to spare a few hours 1 or 2 Saturdays a month to make a difference to a young lady with autism who can feel lonely and who might not otherwise be able to get out and about and/or engage in recreational activities?
This young person struggles socially and lacks confidence and understanding of the ways of the world, so we are seeking support from someone who has experience of special needs and/or specifically autism and who is willing to provide company and companionship as well as help with daily activities with which she struggles. We are looking for a kind individual with an understanding personality who might see themselves as a ‘paid friend’ and someone willing, and able, to effectively support this young person.
Main Duties:
• Offer companionship, reading and some hair care activities
• Some domestic chores (this is mostly covered by others)
• Support in the preparation of meals and shopping for these (if required, mostly covered by others)
• Supervise or assist in the administration of prescribed medication under my direction (if required)
• Escort for day to day and other activities that may include driving

• Driving licence, use of own vehicle required and business insurance essential
Please note that this role may be subject to a DBS check, your employer may also ask for you to supply references.
You must be able to prove the right to work in the UK. No sponsorships are available.
Hours: 4 hours per week to be worked 1 or 2 Saturdays per month – start/finish times can be flexible and agreed upon appointment but as a guide are likely to be between 11am – 4pm
Pay: £12.21 per hour
