About The Role

Salary: Competitive

Working hours: 35 hours per week

Duration: Permanent

Location: Taunton – 1/2 days per month

Lloyd & Whyte, part of Benefact Group, is looking for a Group Risk & Compliance Manager to join our Taunton office on a hybrid basis.

As Group Risk & Compliance Manager, you will ensure the effective delivery of the Annual Compliance Monitoring Programme, fostering a culture of compliance across the organisation and embedding risk management practices.

What You'll Be Doing

* Oversee compliance approvals, including changes to the client journey, financial promotions, and letters.
* Manage regulatory breaches, complaints, data protection, financial crime and other regulatory requirements.
* Prepare and complete FCA regulatory returns accurately and on time (e.g., Gabriel Return, Value Measures reporting).
* Deliver the Training & Competence Plan, ensuring supervision and monitoring meets high standards.
* Conduct audits and reviews to ensure implementation of compliance standards and investigate root causes.
* Prepare, complete and deliver Monthly Risk Assessments for each business.
* Deliver the Risk & Compliance Monitoring Plan on time with high‑quality reviews.
* Develop knowledge of regulatory & legislative obligations (including FCA and Data Protection).
* Provide added‑value recommendations to continuously improve the regulatory control environment.
* Support people with induction training on Risk & Compliance and Regulation.
* Review efficiencies in all compliance processes to ensure consistent record keeping and monitoring.


What You'll Need To Have

* Recognised industry and/or professional Level 3 Qualification.
* Effective at promoting a team focus on technical excellence with service and quality standards.
* Ability to create followership in a regulated, compliant and client‑focused environment.
* Knowledgeable of FCA regulations, especially Conduct Risk & Consumer Duty.
* Working knowledge of the FCA Connect System.
