Job Specification: CNC Machinist Job Title: CNC Machinist Location: Near Burton. Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday Monday to Thursday 7am to 4pm and Friday 7am to 1pm. ________________________________________ Job Purpose The CNC Machinist is responsible for inspecting products, reading micrometers, and executing precise machining operations, primarily on Voith and NT blocks. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities & Activities * Machining blocks and casings for Voith and NT products. * Inspecting equipment, materials, and products using metrology tools such as verniers, calipers, and micrometers. * Operating and programming Rottler and milling machines. * Reboring engine blocks and internal bushes of connecting rods (conrods). * Rebore and sleeve Voith transmission casings. * Requalifying diesel engine connecting rods. * Regrinding and polishing 6-cylinder diesel engine crankshaft journals and flywheel flanges. * Dressing and balancing grinding wheels. * Performing basic TPM (Total Product Maintenance) tasks. * Analysing and solving problems efficiently. * Maintaining clear and honest communication. * Supporting and mentoring trainees or apprentices, as required. * Adhering to and promoting 5S activities to maintain a safe and organized work environment. * Reporting near misses and ensuring proper disposal of waste. ________________________________________ Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) * Successful completion of tasks within allocated timeframes with zero faults. ________________________________________ Person Specification Essential Skills & Experience: * Practical mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills. * Proficiency in CNC machines. * Skilled in reboring, sleeving, and requalifying engine components such as crankshafts and connecting rods. * Familiarity with metrology equipment and techniques. * Ability to analyses information and apply solutions effectively. * Knowledge of safety practices and commitment to maintaining a secure working environment
