Debden Retirement Village, based in Newport, Essex is currently seeking a Kitchen Assistant - Bank - Zero Hour Contract.

Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals to residents.
* Washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits.
* Assisting with dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen.
* Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces, equipment, and storage areas.
* Helping to ensure the kitchen meets all food safety and hygiene standards.
* Stocking and organizing kitchen supplies.
* Supporting the cook and kitchen team as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience in a similar role in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
* Friendly and compassionate nature, especially when interacting with residents.
* Ability to stand for extended periods and carry out physical tasks.
