We are currently looking for a Lead Environment Artist to join our Leamington-based team, but we are fully supportive of remote working and happy to enable whatever blend of home and office best empowers you and your work. We have a particularly exciting project involving action-packed race tracks, which we are seeking a talented individual to champion.
Duties:
● Reports to the Lead Artist, coordinating with team leads on art objectives.
● Leads the development and production of Environments, the strategy, pipeline, and delivery.
● Coaches and mentors the team of artists building these environments, making a significant and direct contribution to the creation of quality artwork.
● Influences the defining look and feel and communicates art style principles to the team
● Leads by example; demonstrates, communicates, and exemplifies clear expectations for quality
● Proactively assists in defining the art pipelines and best practices against industry benchmarks
● Explores new techniques and technologies to achieve the best possible results.
● In the most wholesome way imaginable, loves what they do, and we can tell. (This isn’t a codeword for crunch. The day is over. Go home. So to speak...)
Requirements
● Experience leading a team or department in a previous game team producing a AA or AAA product
● Ideally a First in fine art, computer animation, digital media design, or a relevant degree
● Exceptional portfolio that demonstrates a breadth of ability and traditional drawing skills
● Solid understanding of 2D/3D art packages; Maya/Max, Substance, Photoshop, ZBrush, etc
● Expert knowledge of Unity, multiple shipped games using this engine
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Demonstrable time-management and organisational skills
● A creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills
● Enthusiastic team player, positive and outgoing personality with a can-do attitude
● Genuine commitment to personal development
