Location: Wymondham

Salary: FTE A GBP 27,711 - GBP 28,624 per annum, Pro rata GBP 22,247 - GBP 24,559 per annum

Vacancy Type: Permanent, 38.5 hours per week, Term Time plus 1 week

The College is a member of the Education Trust, an expanding multi-academy trust with 13 primary and 9 secondary schools.


The Role

The College seeks an outstanding individual to join their SEND department as a Learning Lead. The role involves delivering intervention programmes for students with Cognition and Learning difficulties, including literacy and numeracy challenges. Responsibilities include identifying, tracking, reviewing student progress, mentoring students, liaising with parents, and reviewing student profiles termly.


Key Responsibilities

1. Consult with SENCo, teachers, parents, and outside agencies to develop pupil-specific curricula based on baseline data and student profiles.
2. Conduct assessments to identify learning barriers and determine appropriate interventions.
3. Research and select suitable resources and materials to meet student needs.
4. Plan and deliver intervention programmes.
5. Monitor and assess the impact of interventions and advise on best practices.
6. Negotiate timetable allocations for interventions.
7. Collaborate with class teachers to review intervention content and impact.
8. Provide academic mentoring support.
9. Communicate with families and boarding houses as needed.
10. Analyze data and assess progress to improve learning outcomes.
11. Produce termly reports and evidence of intervention impact for the SENDCo.
12. Participate in regular monitoring reviews with parents and staff.
13. Maintain and update intervention records and student profiles.
14. Attend departmental meetings.
15. Support SENDCo with education health care plan reviews.
16. Share expertise and provide staff guidance on cognition and learning for CPD.
17. Review the effectiveness of Curriculum+ and other interventions.
18. Update the Provision Map with student needs and profiles.
19. Complete support and intervention plans for students.


Skills and Qualifications

* Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
* Courses in Cognition and Learning or other SEND areas.
* Experience working with SEND students in a secondary setting.
* Experience delivering intervention programmes or willingness to undertake training.
* Experience with assessment tools like YARC or willingness to train.
* Experience mentoring students with Cognition and Learning/SEMH difficulties.
* Degree (not essential).
