Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a temporary Assistant Service Manager (initially 30 hours per week) to join our services in the Rotherham area. This post is an opportunity to develop your skills as an Assistant Service Manager. Mencap delivers high quality personalised support to people with a learning disability and their families. You will lead dedicated teams of Support Workers, be energetic and confident, and work alongside the Service Manager to develop people management and development across the service teams. You will play a key role in maintaining the quality of our service delivery and ensuring continuous improvement. You will be self-motivated and determined, with a passion for positive change and the confidence to make difficult decisions under pressure. Your working week is flexible and will include working weekends; flexibility is required for both the individual and Mencap.
Responsibilities
* Support and develop service teams under the guidance of the Service Manager.
* Assist in people management and development across the service teams.
* Maintain the quality of service delivery and support continuous improvement.
* Protect the safety and well-being of service users and colleagues by following safeguarding and policy guidelines.
* Work flexibly across a 7-day week, including weekends.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Enhanced DBS is required for the successful candidate.
* Temporary contract with 30 hours per week, in the Rotherham area.
