Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Thetford, Norfolk
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the committed team at a new Specialist Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) Independent School in Thetford, Norfolk.

This unique and forward-thinking school operates from an evidence-based, nurturing foundation, following a therapeutic and holistic model to meet the SEMH and additional needs of vulnerable children and young people.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborating with class teachers to enhance pupil learning and attainment.
2. Promoting pupils’ independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion.
3. Providing individual or group support to ensure pupils can access the curriculum, engage in learning, and achieve success.
4. Covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
5. Meeting professional standards as set out in the Staff Code of Conduct.

Requirements:

6. Previous experience working in an educational setting, preferably with SEMH or special needs pupils.
7. HLTA status or equivalent qualifications.
8. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
9. Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach.
10. A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality within the school.
