We are currently looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our Performance, Quality and Risk team and be part of our continuing growth. You will be working remotely, supporting our North Operation Centres and we'd love to hear from candidates that are located in the Midlands areas. As the Health and Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company is compliant with relevant health & safety legislation, company procedures and best practice. You will be the point of contact for managers, to provide them with the necessary support and advice on health & safety matters. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for updating and devising health & safety risk assessments and safe working procedures as directed. Completion of accident investigations and giving support and advice to yards as required. Reporting relevant incidents under RIDDOR as necessary. Responsible for accurate collation of accident figures and production of monthly reports and statistics. Providing advice to GM's and RM's regarding relevant health & safety legislative requirements, Company procedures and best practice. Communication of relevant health & safety information to all yards in a timely manner as directed, which includes ensuring that Copart intranet site is kept updated with the latest Company health & safety policies & procedures in a timely and accurate manner. Coordinating and booking Health & Safety courses for all relevant colleagues in the Company as required. Completing yard health & safety audits as directed and to a high standard. Dealing with external stakeholder queries and requests i.e., HSE, Emergency Services, and Contractors etc in a timely and accurate manner. Managing all of the day-to-day operational needs that support the smooth running of the health & safety requirements including organising and coordinating fire/ emergency drills, PAT testing, carrying out monthly health & safety inspections & chairing the quarterly health & safety committee meeting. Managing all of the day-to-day operational needs including the organising of routine contractor maintenance/breakdown visits, reviewing maintenance contract requirements & sourcing cost effective maintenance providers and other testing as directed. What you need from you: Full driving licence NEBOSH general certificate Prepared to learn new skills To be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Good IT skills, especially in Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook Have the ability to provide an excellent customer experience and deliver operational excellence in the role.
