Are you an Automation Engineer who enjoys taking an automation project from concept all the way to a fully running system on the shop floor? Do you like a mix of robotics, mechanical design and hands on commissioning? Want to work in a team where your automation work directly improves manufacturing quality, throughput and NPI success?
If yes, this is a great opportunity to join a New Product Development team in Peterborough. You will design and program automation, develop new manufacturing processes and lead full lifecycle projects that make a real impact across the site.

3. Work with a wide range of robotics and automation machinery to design cutting edge solutions

5. Develop your skills in automation, robotics, mechanical design and project leadership
As an Automation Engineer you be:
6. Designing and developing new automation solutions and manufacturing processes
7. Programming and integrating a range of robotic systems including ABB and Universal to name a few
8. Leading full lifecycle automation projects from design to implementation
9. Partnering with machining, heat treat, quality and other internal groups to identify and execute new automation projects
10. Using continuous improvement and lean principles to enhance performance
The successful Automation Engineer will bring:
11. A background with automation systems in a machining or manufacturing environment
12. Both robotic programming and mechanical design expertise. Strong robotic programmers with a basic mechanical design foundation will also be considered and supported
13. Understanding of design for manufacturability.
14. A self starter mindset who enjoys owning and driving engineering projects
15. Experience programming robots in ABB RAPID, FANUC TP or Universal Robots URScript is strongly preferred.
16. 3D CAD Skills: SolidWorks/Inventor or similar preferred
The ideal Automation Engineer will have the below:
17. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Master’s preferred
18. Minimum five years experience in manufacturing engineering, R&D, automation or machine design
