Sales Manager – M&E focus. 50/50 split between proactive/reactive. Hybrid working available. Supported by an admin assistant. £36,000 plus bonus.
Our client is a a one-of-a-kind venue near York offering a striking setting for corporate events, weddings, and corporate days. Blending exceptional hospitality, they are a venue that appeals to both business and leisure.
The venue offers versatile meeting and conference spaces — ideal for everything from intimate board meetings to large-scale conferences and networking receptions. The largest space can accommodate 250 theatre style. The venue also benefits from a large amount of outdoor space.
They also offer private dining experiences, product launches, brand activations, and corporate showcases.
Role Overview
You will cultivate new business, maintain relationships with repeat clients, and maximize venue utilization by promoting conferences, networking events, private celebrations, weddings, and brand activations or launches.
This proactive, hands-on role involves conducting venue tours, meeting with clients, attending trade shows and client events, and working closely with senior leadership. Evening and weekend work will be required on occasions, depending on event demands.
Key Responsibilities
1. Increase bookings and revenue for meetings, corporate events and brand activations by maintaining a strong sales pipeline and meeting occupancy and profitability targets.
2. Proactively source and convert leads through networking, outreach, referrals, trade shows, and client events, managing the full sales cycle from enquiry to post-event follow-up.
3. Collaborate with the General Manager and Finance Controller to develop and refine pricing strategies that optimise room rates and package profitability.
4. Create tailored packages combining venue hire, catering, décor, branding, AV services, and wedding or brand-launch options, while monitoring competitors to stay distinctive.
5. Oversee every booking detail—pricing, setup, AV, décor, catering coordination, and on-site client tours—to deliver seamless events, weddings, and brand launches.
6. Partner with Marketing, Operations, F&B, and Finance to ensure flawless execution and to develop promotions that fill off-peak slots.
7. Lead and coach the Meetings, Events & Accounts Administrative Assistant, delegating routine tasks to focus on high-value client interactions.
