Join our team as a key player in delivering seamless patient journeys across Yeovil and Musgrove Park Hospitals. The Booking Officer will provide efficient and effective administrative and booking support for Yeovil District Hospital, Musgrove Park Hospital, and the wider workforce, based at Wynford House in Yeovil.
In addition, you'd offer reception support to the Outpatients Department at Yeovil District Hospital when required, as directed by the manager, to ensure smooth service delivery.
This role requires flexibility, strong organisational skills, and the ability to carry out a broad range of administrative tasks while working confidently across multiple hospital systems.
Main duties of the job
Deal with day‑to‑day correspondence, provide a booking service to patients and other parties in a friendly and professional manner.
Receive telephone calls, accepting messages on behalf of team members and taking appropriate action where necessary.
Liaise with appropriate personnel in the team to gather and co‑ordinate patient information so this is accessible in a timely manner.
Process referrals and arrange appropriate outpatient appointments.
Participate in team and Trust meetings as requested.

Please note this role is based at Wynford House, Lufton Way, Yeovil with occasional shifts at Yeovil District Hospital covering Outpatient reception.
The shift pattern is Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm with a 30 minute break.
Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs or equivalent qualifications including English Language Grade A‑C. NVQ level 3 in Business Administration or Customer Service or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience.
Experience
* Proven experience of providing customer‑focussed service.
* Proven experience in an administrative role.
* Proficient IT skills including keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft packages.
* Proven experience of effective communication including with distressed, anxious or angry individuals and ability to escalates when appropriate.
