Teacher of History Location: York, North Yorkshire Start Date: September 2025 Salary: MPS/UPS: £32,916 - £51,048 per annum GSL Education are seeking a Teacher of History for a thriving Secondary school in York, North Yorkshire, starting in September 2025. Teacher of History Responsibilities: Deliver engaging lessons that align with the national curriculum or exam board specifications. Use a variety of teaching strategies to make the subject matter interesting and accessible. Maintain discipline and create a positive learning environment. Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils. Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils. Stay up-to-date with developments in the subject of History. Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment. Teacher of History Requirements: A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent). Experience teaching History at secondary level, including examination classes. A strong and comprehensive knowledge of history, including current events and developments. A strong understanding of current pedagogical best practices and enthusiasm for their subject. Have a commitment to ongoing personal development and training. Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply a for a new one through GSL Education.
