We're Edison Young People, and we provide warm, family-style homes for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. Right now, we're looking for a Senior Residential Support Worker to help guide a small, passionate team and create a positive daily routine for the children in our care.
What the Role Involves
No two days are the same, but your focus will always be on creating a safe, supportive, and positive space for the young people in your care — and leading by example.
You'll:
* Take the lead on shifts and support the care team
* Be a steady, caring presence for the children
* Help with daily routines — meals, school runs, downtime, and activities
* Use trauma-informed care to build trust and connection
* Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
* Keep the house running smoothly and safely — including paperwork and compliance
* Work closely with the Deputy/Registered Manager to build leadership skills

What We're Looking For
To hit the ground running as a Senior Support Worker, you'll need:
* Experience working with children or young people in residential care (EBD or similar)
* Calm, confident leadership qualities – you don't have to be a manager yet, just ready to guide and support others
* A commitment to trauma-informed, child-centred care
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
* Full UK driving licence and age 21+
* Flexibility for rota work including sleep-ins
