About the role:
SourceCo are currently hiring for a well-established precision engineering company specialising in the production of high-quality components for a wide range of industries. Using advanced CNC technology and modern machining methods, the company delivers complex, tight-tolerance parts to meet demanding customer specifications.
Working within a skilled engineering team, youll help ensure parts are manufactured to exacting standards, maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency across every stage of production.
Key Responsibilities:
S et up, and operate CNC turning centres (including twin turret, twin spindle lathes), ensuring safe and efficient operation.
Operate 7-axis machinery and Fanuc control systems to produce precision components to given engineering drawings and tolerances.
Load and unload materials, install tooling, and measure/inspect workpieces using precision measuring instruments (micrometres, calipers, gauges, etc.).
Monitor machine operation, intervene when required, make adjustments to speed, feed, or tooling to maintain quality and productivity.
Carry out routine maintenance of machines (cleaning, lubrication, replacing worn tools), report any faults or issues to engineering / maintenance team.
Follow production plans, work orders, and schedules to meet deadlines and maintain throughput.
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, maintain a tidy & safe working environment.
Work with quality control team to inspect finished parts and ensure they meet required specifications.
Keep accurate records of production quantities, machine settings, downtime, tools used, etc.
Collaborate with engineers, supervisors and other team members to improve processes, reduce waste, and adopt best practices.
Candidate requirements:
Essential Technical Skills / Experience:
Experience working on CNC turning machines, particularly twin turret and twin spindle lathes.
Familiarity with 7-axis machining.
Experience with Fanuc control systems.
Engineering background, time-served in machining/CNC or relevant CNC qualifications.
Desirable Qualifications & Knowledge:
Mechanical / engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent) in machining, engineering, toolmaking etc.
Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
Experience in precision engineering/manufacturing environment.
Understanding of material properties and how different materials behave when being machined.
