Rate of Pay: £32.04- £42.00 per hour
Summary:
The Domestic Abuse Officer provides high-quality assessment and interventions to families presenting the highest risk of domestic abuse within the Family Safeguarding multi-disciplinary team. The core purpose is to ensure the personal safety of family members by working collaboratively with perpetrators and victims. The role is instrumental in implementing the team's Motivational Interviewing model and delivering structured group programs to effect positive change, ultimately aiming to keep more children safely at home with their families.
Responsibilities:
* Provide high quality assessment and interventions to the highest risk families as part of the Family Safeguarding Team.
* Assess and contribute to the management of risk of harm to ensure the safety of family members, including the development of a written safety plan.
* Undertake home visits as required for risk assessment and management.
* Work closely with professionals in the Family Safeguarding Team, Police, Probation Service, Mental Health Services, MARACs (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences), and MAPPA (Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements).
* Ensure victims are aware of their rights to legal protection for themselves and their children, and arrange for the provision of legal advice as required (including accompanying to appointments).
* Record on the Childrens Services database and the recording system used by the employing agency, keeping records up to date at all times.
Essentials:
* Probation Officer relevant qualification is Essential.
* Applied knowledge of CBT based approaches.
* Up to date knowledge of housing, criminal, civil, and welfare rights legislation relating to domestic violence.
* Demonstrable experience working effectively with perpetrators and victims of domestic violence with positive outcomes.
* Experience in representing organisations in formal settings with stakeholders to advocate for victims with confidence, authority, and credibility.
