Team Leader - Preston Designated Family Court (1) and Blackburn Designated Family Court (1)
Responsibilities
* Lead your team, prioritise work, and ensure your team is fully skilled to meet objectives while supporting wellbeing and motivating continuous success.
* Contribute to the delivery of operational, performance and service standard targets and provide statistical data for the management team and judiciary.
* Monitor and analyse performance areas and trends, review procedures and work practices, and implement improvements and new initiatives and legislation.
* Support professional development through HMCTS leadership programmes and resources to develop leadership skills and capability.
Skills and Qualifications
* Ability to motivate and support your team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve effective performance.
* Experience in an administrative role in a customer-focused environment.
* IT proficient with the ability to learn and adapt to different technologies and software packages.
* Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.
Working Arrangements
New recruits to the Civil Service joining MoJ are expected to join at the band minimum. These operational roles are customer facing and office-based to provide HMCTS services to the public. Standard full-time working hours are 37 hours per week; part-time, flexible and job-sharing patterns are considered where they meet role requirements and are agreed prior to appointment (minimum hours 30 per week over 5 days).
Locations
* Preston Designated Family Court (base location). The postholder will be expected to attend Leyland Family Hearing Centre as required, with limited travel.
* Blackburn Designated Family Court (base location). The postholder will be expected to attend Reedley Family Hearing Centre as required, with limited travel.
Additional Information
* The reserve list will be managed by location preferences and appointments will be in merit list order for each location.
* Skilled Worker visa: From 22 July 2025, the salary and eligibility criteria changed. Sponsorship may be limited; applicants should ensure they have the right to work in the UK.
* Hybrid working arrangements are available where business needs allow, with a minimum of 60% of time spent in the office unless otherwise agreed.
