Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and efficient Courier Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and packages to various locations, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, as well as the ability to handle heavy lifting and navigate various routes effectively.
Duties
* Operate a delivery van to transport goods between locations.
* Load and unload packages, ensuring items are handled with care.
* Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including times, locations, and any discrepancies.
* Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
* Perform routine vehicle checks to ensure the van is in good working condition.
* Assist in warehouse duties when not on delivery runs, including sorting and organising packages.
Experience
* Previous experience as a courier driver or in a similar role is preferred.
* A valid commercial driving licence is essential for this position.
* Experience with heavy lifting and handling large packages is advantageous.
* Familiarity with local routes and traffic patterns will be beneficial.
* Strong communication skills are necessary for interacting with customers and team members.
* A background in warehouse operations or logistics can enhance your application.
