About The Role Job Title : Quantity Surveyor Location: Northeast (Teesside) – Full Time, Hybrid (3 days on site / 2 days remote or local office) Project Type: Net Zero Teesside Company: Balfour Beatty Group About Us Balfour Beatty’s Asset & Technology Solutions (ATS) business unit has an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team working on the landmark Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project – a major energy initiative driving the UK’s path to net zero carbon. This is a key role within the Temporary Site Services (TSS) team, supporting commercial delivery across a range of packages including Modular Buildings, Temporary Electrical M&E Works, Fire, and Survey packages. We’re looking for a capable and proactive Quantity Surveyor who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys taking ownership of commercial processes, and can build strong relationships across our project teams and supply chain. What you'll be doing Key Responsibilities Managing monthly applications, valuations, and accounts in line with subcontract agreements. Overseeing change control processes and ensuring compliance with NEC4 contract procedures. Preparing CVRs, forecasts, and regular financial reports for the TSS Managing Quantity Surveyor and Business Manager. Leading on subcontract management including drafting, negotiation, and agreement of new phases of work. Supporting the management of additional site services accounts as required. Possible supervision of Assistant Quantity Surveyors or Commercial Assistants. Promoting collaborative working and contributing to a positive team culture on the NZT project. Who we're looking for What You Need Strong experience as a Quantity Surveyor (open sector background welcome – building, civils, M&E, or modular). Proven commercial management experience within a subcontracting environment. Working knowledge of NEC4 contracts and open book contracting principles. Excellent financial reporting, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively within a collaborative project team. Why join us?
