Senior Health Care Support Worker – Cardiology Ward (Royal Hospital for Children)
There is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Health Care Support Worker within the Cardiology Ward at the Royal Hospital for Children.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
* Part‑time role for 34.5 hours per week
* Hours will be worked rotationally – dayshifts and nightshifts over 7 days
* Post based at the Royal Hospital for Children
* Salary is pro‑rata for part‑time hours
Key Responsibilities
Work within Ward 1E, a 14‑beded inpatient ward providing national cardiology care for children and young people across Scotland, supporting the multidisciplinary team in delivering high‑quality patient care.
Qualifications and Experience
* SVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* Basic literacy and numeracy
* Previous child care experience
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
* Willingness to undertake training and become competent within 6 months in:
o Recording Vital Signs
o Pressure Area Care
o Nasogastric Feeding
o Gastrostomy Feeding
o Moving and Handling
