Interim Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable Clerk

Location: Solihull (office based)

Contract: 3-6 month contract

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 (pro rata)

The Role:

A respected and growing organisation based in Solihull is looking for an experienced Interim Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable Clerk to join their finance team on a 3-6 month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a capable interim professional who enjoys working in busy finance environments and can step into a role with minimal supervision. You'll be joining a collaborative team where accuracy, efficiency and strong supplier relationships are key to success.

The business is currently going through an exciting period of change, creating an opportunity for an experienced AP professional to support the team and ensure the smooth running of day-to-day accounts payable operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
2. Matching, batching and coding invoices
3. Supplier statement reconciliations
4. Preparing and assisting with payment runs
5. Handling supplier queries and resolving discrepancies
6. Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
7. Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks

Essential Requirements:

8. Previous experience within a Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable role
9. Prior interim or contract experience strongly preferred
10. Ability to quickly understand processes and deliver from day one
11. Ideally AAT qualified or studying towards AAT
12. Experience working within medium to large finance teams
13. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
14. Confident communicator with a proactive approach
