Behaviour Support Assistant Location: Oldham Rate: £95 - £110 per day (based on experience) Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Term-Time Only Start Date: Post Easter start Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of secondary students who need support the most, and are confident in building positive relationships with those who find school challenging? If so, this Behaviour Support Assistant opportunity is for you! We are working with a well-regarded specialist school in Oldham that is looking to appoint a committed Behaviour Support Assistant to join their school community. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a cohesive and supportive staff team within a well-resourced setting that prioritises student wellbeing, progress, and inclusion. The school supports secondary-aged students (KS3-KS4) with a range of additional needs, including SEMH and behavioural challenges. Staff work collaboratively to create a structured, nurturing and consistent environment where pupils feel safe, supported and ready to engage in learning. The Role As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will support students on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them to regulate their emotions, manage behaviour positively and access the curriculum successfully. Key responsibilities include: Supporting students with challenging behaviour and additional needs Building strong, consistent and professional relationships Implementing effective behaviour management strategies De-escalating incidents calmly and confidently Promoting resilience, emotional regulation and positive routines Working closely with teaching staff, SENCO and pastoral teams Contributing to a safe, structured and inclusive learning environmentThis role is ideal for candidates with experience in behaviour support, SEN, SEMH, youth work, alternative provision or secondary school settings.
