Offer description

We are currently looking to support our client based in Runcorn with a requirement for a Health & Safety / HSE Advisor supporting project work across their North West client base. This role needs to be office based and candidates looking for a strict hybrid/ remote arrangement will not be suitable. The successful candidate will operate in an advisory / managerial role supporting site based project work involving client liaison responsibilities, instructing site based client personnel, and subcontractor management. They'll initially be working on duties for maintaining ISO accreditation. This will be a contract role starting as soon as possible with a minimum of 6 months duration, although this is likely to be extended indefinitely in line with further orders and business levels. Candidates that are willing to consider a temp to perm arrangement would also be welcomed as this role has the potential to go permanent. This will also be a part time role, most likely working 3 days per week with some flexibility where necessary. As such this role may suit people with an existing client portfolio looking to add further work into their schedule, or even semi-retired candidates with good experience looking to reduce their schedule. Due to the client’s smaller size, they fall under the threshold for IR35 measures and so Limited Company contractors are free to operate. Rates have not been confirmed but are likely to be in the region of £40 per hour (gross Ltd). The role will not be entirely site based, but candidates should expect frequent travel across the North West region, with the possibility for very occasional trips to wider UK locations. This will all be typically client process plant / chemical plant sites. Candidates will need significant site-based experience across multiple different sites. They will have a strong personality with good communication skills for handling safety related issues with clients and company personnel. They will be capable of conducting surveys where necessary, performing risk assessments, and writing policy and risk statements. Job Description Overview * We require an HSE Advisor to ensure health & safety in the company's operational activities. * Reporting to Company Directors/Management, the role will involve liaison with all company personnel, clients and sub-contractors. * The HSE Advisor will ensure that the company fully adheres to statutory, regulatory and industry standards throughout all its activities HSE Advisor - Education & Training * CDM training to CDM 2015 requirements * NEBOSH qualification (construction or general cert as minimum) * Trade qualification to NVQ3 level / HNC or similar (Advantageous but not essential) HSE Advisor - Experience * Minimum of 5 years previous experience in an EHSQ role * Relevant industrial experience * Engineering or construction background (Advantageous) * Hands-on Industrial site experience * Sound environmental knowledge * Experience of maintaining ISO9001:15 accreditation
