Role Overview
Our client who are an award-winning Property Developer and Construction firm is seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead the operation and continuous improvement of their IT function. This pivotal role involves managing technology projects, enhancing system performance, and ensuring robust security and compliance across the organisation's IT infrastructure whilst managing a small team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the IT department, setting objectives aligned with the strategic plan.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and monitor the IT annual operating budget.
* Represent the IT function in management forums and foster cross-departmental collaboration.
* Provide leadership and support to end users across the business, ensuring effective and timely IT services.
* Design, implement, and maintain scalable ICT infrastructure and connectivity solutions.
* Maintain a high standard of user support, reducing business disruption through proactive issue resolution.
* Contribute to strategic planning and policy review in alignment with broader organisational objectives.
* Proactively report technology risks and issues to the Associate IT Director.
* Stay current with emerging technologies and identify opportunities for innovation.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory standards and data protection laws.
* Implement and maintain disaster recovery and data backup protocols.
* Safeguard the integrity, security, and availability of organisational data.
* Deliver IT projects on time, within scope and budget, following best practice methodologies.
* Conduct regular assessments of the IT environment and recommend areas for enhancement.
Key Skills & Experience
* Strong technical proficiency in IT infrastructure (networks, servers, databases).
* Up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data protection regulations.
* Background in software development and system integration is highly advantageous.
* Team Lead experience
* Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing both internal teams and external IT partners.
* Proven project management capabilities, with a track record of successful delivery.
* Experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and service level oversight.
* Ability to align technology solutions with business needs and long-term strategy.
* Financial acumen, including budget development and cost control.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Technical Competencies
* Azure Infrastructure: Virtual machines, networking, and storage.
* Azure Security: Azure Active Directory (AAD), Security Center, and compliance with Cyber Essentials Plus.
* Azure Monitoring & Management: Automation tools and performance monitoring.
* Azure Governance: Policy creation, cost control, and full Microsoft Cloud Stack familiarity.
