Priory Hospital Woodbourne is looking to recruit a Medical Secretary to join the team. This is a full-time role of 374.5 hours. Priory Hospital Woodbourne, located in a peaceful and picturesque suburb of South West Birmingham, is a specialised addiction rehab centre, providing expert treatment for a range of addictions, including alcohol, drugs and support for behavioural addictions
What you'll be doing
You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.
* To provide cross cover within specified Medical Secretaries teams, as assigned by your line manager.
* Provide exceptional customer service to our patients, ensuring a positive customer experience
* You will be required to accurately record Independent Consultant time to ensure appropriate invoicing controls are in place for the hospital. Independent Consultant Time is designated as time you spend completing tasks assigned to you by a Consultant.

What you'll bring to the role

The ideal candidate will possess excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills, along with the ability to audio-type efficiently. A solid understanding of medical terminology is essential, as is a genuine passion for delivering high-quality service within a hospital setting. Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively are key, alongside a keen eye for detail. The role requires a collaborative team player who upholds a high level of confidentiality and integrity at all times.
